WOW, TECHNOLOGY HAS CHANGED SO MUCH OVER THE YEARS.
NOT ONLY COMPUTERS, BUT MOBILE PHONES, CAMERAS, iPods, EVEN FRIDGES, PRINTERS AND EVERYDAY HOUSEHOLD ITEMS

Every device keeps getting smaller, but the internal memory somehow keeps expanding.
You are able to do more things in more places at more convenient times.

Although this ever-changing technology is definitely handy, it is also a real hassle. We are expected to available and reachable 24/7.

Convergence: "A trend in which different hardware devices such as TVs, computers and phones merge and have similar function" (David Chaffey, 2009).

In today's society, each piece of technology is beginning to have common functions.
FOR EXAMPLE: We are able to access the internet and send emails from our phones, without the need of logging onto a computer.
This change in technology has been quite recent.

4 CONVERGENT TECHNOLOGICAL EXAMPLES.

MOBILE PHONES

Mobile phones are evolving quicker than you can possibly imagine. From the days of only being able to call and sms people - to now being able to access the internet and even create your own personal homepage on top of the traditional mobile features.

2. CAMERAS:
Cameras are another form of technology which has changed over the years. They are now smaller and more portable - which allows you to take it almost anywhere. Not only the size and shape of the camera changed, but also the photo quality has improved so much since the introduction of the first camera.
You no longer need a roll of film to get developed, all you need is a memory card, which stores all images you've taken until you decide to delete them.

3. PRINTERS, PHOTOCOPIERS, SCANNERS AND FAX MACHINES

ALL IN ONE! From the days of the simple black and white printers and humongous photocopiers to the convenient four in one devices. Instead of owning a printer, a photocopier, a scanner and a fax machine, we are able to own just one "machine" that can do the job of all four.

Not only can you do all these things with the one device, the speed and quality of each document or photo, is better than those produced from previous technological devices.

Some even have a built in telephone handset, which makes communication simple and easy

4. COMPUTERS
Okay, so this iMac looks pretty up class and hi-tech. Thats because it is. You are able to do some much more than you could on a simple PC or Laptop. Sure you can access the internet and use photoshop, but you can take photos straight from the screen - due to the camera imbedded in the top.
